New Year, Fresh Start

Let's see if we can do a better job this year...

Last year went remarkably well.  I had THE BEST student EVER!  There is something to be said for teaching someone who is self-motivated, scheduled, and ready to get down to business :) Our biggest success was tackling 3 levels worth of math in a single year and passing the Algebra placement test, woohoo!

Now it's on to HIGH SCHOOL for 2013-2014!  We've been back in school since 7/1, but tomorrow is our official first day of the regular schedule.  On the agenda:  American History (Civil War to present), Biology I (with lab), Algebra I, English 9 (writing/lit), Fine Arts (art/music/theater), Japanese I, and Logic.  The school room has been tidied, the bookshelves are chock full of new books and curriculum, and the supply of super-hero themed composition notebooks has been replenished.  Here we go!

We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light.  ~Evelyn Dunbar
