Weekly Wrap-Up

One month completed!

This week in:


  • Math--factors, order of operations, writing an equation from a word problem, lots of math bingo, and more practice on 3x3 multiplication; math quiz Friday
  • Social Studies/Geography--America: The Story of Us episode 1 plus discussion, identifying topics for living books and additional research; Jamestown; original 13 colonies map work (quiz next Tuesday); reading books on life as an early settler/colonist; began reading "Blood on the River"
  • Language Arts--vocabulary; grammar (nouns); Lessons 1-3 of OYAN & researched common elements to adventure novels; finished Sherlock Holmes: Hounds of Baskerville, watched movie, and completed assignment comparing/contrasting the two; library
On Wednesday, in honor of the first official day of the public schools, we played hooky :)  We got up, got dressed, got sister on the bus and then headed for the library (this time for nothing but fun books!)  Then we had lunch and lazed around.

Next week holds more math, social studies, and writing plus we're beginning our science and art/music appreciation lessons.  Japanese will be added in shortly there after.  We'll also be signing up for the teen choir (lessons once a week) which begins in 2 weeks.
